Description	Genometracing is a novel genomic tracing algorithm that can process millions of SARS-CoV-2 sequences in less than a minute. Instead of constructing a huge phylogenetic tree, the method developed a weighted scoring system based on the characteristics of the mutations to quantify the similarity between sequences. The developed method showed superior performance compared to previous methods based on the phylogenetic tree and unweighted sequence similarity search. The corresponding online platform was developed to facilitate genomic tracing and visualization of the spatio-temporal distribution of sequences. The method is a valuable adjunct to standard epidemiological investigations, enabling more efficient genomic tracing.
